In 1984, the 6-bedroom house opened its doors as a home away from home for families with a child facing a medical crisis. Dr. Bell was the driving force behind the House and with the help of McDonald’s restaurant owners and the community, the House would go on to serve 271 families in its first year. Within the years to come, the House would undergo a few expansions to accommodate more families being able to call the House home.
